Research-based competence brokering has been a success in Norway. Next week delegates from Italy, Germany, Switzerland and Estonia visit Bergen University College to learn more about the technique.

The intention of the research-based competence brokering project REBASING is to develop a comprehensive work program to improve the cooperation between universities, research centers and enterprises. This cooperation is intended to enhance the innovation capacity of the companies and enable them to face future scenarios.

A practical approach is developed in Norway within the context of the Regional Program for innovation research and development (VRI). This approach will be studied carefully at an open seminar at Bergen University College (BUC) the 9th and 10th of May 2011.

At the heart of the model is the competence broker who analyses the needs of the enterprise in terms of technological and organizational innovation and links these needs to universities and research centers.

The REBASING project is a part of the ‘Europe 2020’ strategy of the European Commission, aiming at a smart, sustainable and inclusive economy.

About the open seminar.
