Blue-green bacteria - Gomphosphaeria
Gomphosphaeria is colonial and the colonies are like balls. The volume consists mainly of mucilage. The colonies can become very irregular in shape as the cells within them multiply and break into two or more parts. The colonies are about 100 my or 1/10 mm in diameter. The cells contain gas vesicles and form water bloom, special in polluted water.
