Wheel animals - Filinia

Filinia is characterized with three long outgrowths from the body.
Two eggs are connected to the back part of the body. The eggs are not fertilized (summer-eggs) and all of them develop to females. Later in the summer, or in the beginning of the autumn, some eggs develop to males, often very small. Then copulation can occur. The fertilized eggs, winter eggs or resting eggs, are more resistant to changes in the environmental changes. During the winter, they often will sink to the bottom and first in the spring, when the temperature is rising, they can develop to new females.
