Bergen University College is a state educational and research institution with about 7,700 students. It comprises 3 faculties, each with individual character, based on strong professional traditions. The Faculty of Education, the Faculty of Engineering and Business Administration, and the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences provide the core of the academic structure, and offer a broad range of Bachelor and Master Programmes.
From January 1 2017, Bergen University College merges with Stord/Haugesund University College and Sogn og Fjordane University College to form a new institution of higher education. With about 16,000 students, the new institution will be one of the largest higher education institutions in Norway. The new institution will offer Bachelor, Master and PhD programmes primarily within education, engineering and health and social sciences.
