Welcome to Summer School
This summer you may attend two research schools at our campus i Bergen. One is about music, the other one challenges established opinions on teacher education and teacher education research.
Music in a Transforming Society
On June 7–10, we are hosting the international Summer School of Grieg Research School in Interdisciplinary Music Studies. The PhD course is called 'Beyond Communication? Musical Challenges in a Transforming Society'.
The PhD course will explore social and intercultural perspectives on music, and will include lectures, panel discussions, workshops, performances and social events.
New perspectives on Teacher Education
On August 22–26, Centre for Educational Research at Bergen University College is hosting a PhD course in collaboration with the Australian Catholic University. This PhD course is called 'Researching Teacher Education through Cultural-Historical Activity Theory' and is affiliated to our PhD programme Bildung and Pedagogical Practices.
The use of cultural-historical activity theory (CHAT) will create opportunities to destabilise, motivate and interrupt the taken-for-granted in teacher education and teacher education research.
