Angela Hasselgreen has a research background in language testing and assessment, particularly involving younger learners. She has worked with European partners in carrying out research into relating language assessment of school children to the Common European Framework of Reference for languages (Council of Europe). She has also been involved in the recent school curriculum (Kunnskapsløftet) for English, as well as the national tests in English. She is co-founder of a national network for research into language learning in the primary school.

Pågående prosjekter:

  • AYLLIT: an ECML (European Centre for Moderen Languages) supported project, researching the development and assessment of reading and writing of primary school children. This research involves two classes in Bergen, and partner schools in Spain, Slovenia and Lithuania

Tidligere prosjekter:

  • (2000-2003) Bergen Can-do project: an ECML supported project designed to adapt the European Language Portfolio (Council of Europe) to pupils in lower secondary school. A Nordic-Baltic partnership
  • 2004-5) ENLTA (European network for language testing and assessment). An EU-supported project to assess and initiate action to address the needs of language testing and assessment in Europe
