The Centre for Educational Research aims at developing insight into educational institutions as knowledge cultures and – organizations. Especially, focus is on the multiple factors that regulate the formation of teacher’s professional knowledge and identity in teacher education. These factors include organizational and governing structures, didactic strategies in teacher education, relations between teacher training institutions and the practice field, and issues of change.

Through this broad approach the centre aims at promoting democratic innovation, social equality and citizenship as well as contributing to knowledge-based policy decisions in higher education.
